Steamed Fruit Cake (Again)


Made this cake before & love the moist texture and the balanced sweet/fruity taste. Earlier posting is here.

  1. Salam, along saya dah buat untuk adik n kawannya. Satu adunan bahagi 2. Nampak macam lembut aje. Tapi tengok along punya kek macam mantop, ada ke perlu dilebihkan tepung atau tak boleh bahagi 2 adunan.

    Wsalam. Memang boleh bahagi 2 ataupun 1/2 adunan. Along pun bahagi 2 juga kali ni & takda masalah. Respi tu dh betul, tak perlu lebihkan/kurangkan tepung. Cuma pastikan takda air yg masuk ke dlm kek. Kalau guna pengukus biasa, tutup tin dgn aluminium foil supaya takda air menitis atas kek, ok. Good Luck.

    May i ask, after steam. do we need keep the cake in fridge if unfinished? How long can we keep?
    This steam cake recipe u provided taste the same as ur SIL's one? becos the recipe require 4 hrs steaming which cld cost alot in gas bill in singapore, i hope the cake can really produce a satisfactory result. haa.. thank you :)

  4. The cake can last several days at room temperature but I prefer to keep in fridge for extra care & it cut well when fridge but you need to thaw it back to room temperature in order to enjoy moist texture.
    Yes, it is similar recipe. Many people have tried the recipe and very happy with the result so I hope you will be successful and satisfied with it. You can try half portion first.
