Teresek

I never heard the name of this dish until I saw it at Mamasya's house. I like banana flowers very much and I happened to have two banana trees fruiting with unplucked flowers gave me an opportunity to try out this dish. My whole family gave me thumbs up as they enjoyed it very much.... combination of the spices have unique delicious flavour....

  3. can i have this recipe in English? It will be my 'first ever' with banana flowers- i have 3 banana plants-one in my garden n two i planted behind my home. DO u pluck the banana flower when it is small or big? Any kind of banana flower will do?I've also eaten a 'salad' at a Nyonya restaurant that uses banana flower and love it! Wonder if you know how to prepare it too?? Thanks in advance! As you can see, i am an avid follower of your blog. Really appreciate your sharing.

  4. Deetha,
Wsalam. Selamat Hari Raya Idh Adha to you too.

    Elpi,
    Welcome...!

    Minibaker,
ok, will do the translation when got free time,it is quite lengthy.
I plucked the banana after all the fruits revealed and there is empty space on the stem between the fruits & the flower. If you wait too long, the flower will get smaller & the inside will be too tough to consume.
I have posted earlier the salad style here:

Thanks for your support to my blog.
