Kek Lapis Sisik Ikan (Scale Layered Cake Again)



Hi to everyone and especially the Homekreation followers and friends. Apology for being quiet and this is my first entry in March so far.... too loaded with many things in head and my heart was quite down too.

I made this cake about two weeks ago as a gift to a friend from Dubai but only today that I managed to pass the cake to her. I postponed this entry until the cake is in her hand so that it will be little surprise.... LOL it is just an ugly cake, not so much surprise after all but I hope my little gift will cheer her up. My condolence to her, hubby & whole family for the loss of their beloved mum few days ago. Sorry sis that I sliced it a bit so that can show off the design here.

Size: 8" square
INGREDIENTS:
10 Egg yolk*
2 Egg white*
250g Castor Sugar*
1 tbsp Ovalette*
75ml chilled Water*
3/4 can Serikaya* (1 can is 300g)
160g Horlicks*
250g Hong Kong Flour
300g Butter
4 tbs Condensed Milk
4 packet of Haw Flakes

METHOD:
1. Place all ingredients marked* in a mixer bowl & beat with high speed until fluffy & thick. 
(Tips: The bowl need to be big enough to handle the volume which get doubled up)
Fold in flour gradually until well mixed.

2. In a separate bowl, beat butter & condensed milk until white & fluffy.
Combine into the earlier mixture.

3. Spread 6 tbsp into lined/greased tin & grill until the top is evenly brown.
Take the tin out from oven and press surface with cake presser to ensure even layer.
Repeat for second layer.
Arrange haw flake by inserting through the two layers at 45 degrees angle.
Repeat the above process until all batter is used up.

Assalamualaikum kekawan dan para pembaca yg sudi singgah. Maaf lah ya dah lama menyepi.... terlampau kesibukan dan juga mood yg tak berapa baik kebelakangan ni....hehe. Walaupun aktiviti di dapur tak berhenti, cuma mood nak bergambar & bercerita agak tersontot kerana kemurungan entah apa sebab.

ok lah, meh tengok kek lapis yg Along buat baru2 ni untuk my sweet friend from Dubai. Dah dua minggu buat kek ni tapi baru harini dapat peluang untuk serahkan kepada nya.

Saiz: 8" persegi
BAHAN2:
10 bj Kuning Telur*
2 bj Putih Telur*
250g Gula Kastor*
1 sb Ovalette*
75ml Air Ais*
3/4 tin Serikaya* (1 tin = 300g)
160g Horlicks*
250g Tepung Hong Kong
300g Butter
4 sb Susu Pekat
4 bungkus Asam Haw Flakes

CARA2:
1. Pukul bahan2 bertanda* dgn kelajuan tinggi sehingga kembang 2x ganda & pekat.
Masukkan tepung & adun rata.
2. Dalam mangkuk yg berasingan, pukul butter & susu pekat sehingga kembang.
Campurkan kedua2 adunan sehingga sebati.
3. Ratakan 6 sb adunan ke dlm tin yg dilapik & di gris.
Grill sehingga keperangan & tekan lapisan supaya rata.
Ulangi bakar selapis2 & cucukkan asam dgn sudut serong setiap dua lapisan.

    1. Wsalam. Belum cuba belum tau Nina, mungkin Nina boleh buat lebih baik dai Along. Memang lah susah sikit tapi ada kepuasan bila dah siap.

    1. Wsalam Ummi cayang. Along pun sama gak Ummi, susah nya nak update blog apa tah lagi nak bw. Liana lak demam campak ari ni lagi lah tak terdaya. Maceh sbb masih sempat Ummi menjenguk Along wl pun kesibukan.

  6. Asalamk - saya baru membaca blog ni dlm usaha mencari tip2 utk kek lapis.nak tanyak sikit pada along - saya cuba buat kak lapis menggunakan tepong gandum biasa - tak dapat nak cari superfine. keknya menjadi tetapi berat n berminyak sgt. apa komen along/ tk. Kak Aisha - Oman.

      - Tpg superfine byk di jual dimana2 supermkt dan kedai menjual bhn2 kek. Tapi kalau tak jumpa juga, tepung gandum pun ok. Mmg berat sedikit tapi tak jauh beda sangat.
      - Kek berminyak bukan sebab jenis tepung tapi mungkin sukatan kurang tepat - samada terlebih mentega atau terkurang tepung/telur. Pastikan guna telur grad A atau AA shj utk resepi kek lapis.

  7. Walaupun along kata ugly..mck kata ia adalah satu effort...buat kek lapis needs patience....
    Insyallah nti "rajin" mck ingin cuba...last time I did was abt 20 yrs ago

    1. Wow, lama nya dulu makcik melapis... ni kena buat semula supaya skill tu tak hilang. Kek lapis nak beli pun mahal & selalu nya guna bhn2 murah, jadi kurang sedap. Lebih baik buat sendiri puas makan.
