Apart from banana fritters, there are many other types of vegetables and fruits that I like to dip in batter & deep fry like yam, sweet potato and breadfruit. Locally, breadfruit is called Buah Sukun.
This time I simply used ready-made batter powder which I mixed with water. I like slicing it thinly so that it is crispy but thicker ones are nice too.
For those who may not know how Sukun / Breadfruit looks like, here is the photo (which I already halved):

Once, I picked this (from the ground) from my Uni's compound, thinking of frying this back at my student's house. But it seemed to have a lot of sap, and we didn't dare to cut through it. Threw it away instead.

ReplyDeleteIf dropped from the tree, the fruit must have been too ripe or rotten and that's why a lot of sap.
I never eat this for long time, I like it.
