Sambal Petai & Ikan Bilis Tempoyak

 Weihhhhh.... letih nyaaaa.... hari ni Along cuti sebab nak panjat Gua Niah. AlongRiz is on a long break after completing his pre-university course in KL and insyaallah will be leaving to America in a month time. During this break, he invited few friends from KL to visit Miri who are staying with us right now. So my hubby and I took leave today to bring them touring Niah Cave. It was a long walk, I guess we made about 10km walk.

Here is my mouth watering tempoyak sambal.

INGREDIENTS:
Petai
Handful Ikan Bilis
2 tbsp Tempoyak
Red Chili - pounded (I used Chili Oil from here) 
1 Big Onion - sliced 
1 Lemongrass - bruised 
Salt - optional 

METHOD:
1. Heat up few tbsp oil & fry Ikan Bilis until crispy. Keep aside.
Stir fry onion until brown, add in lemongrass, chili, petai, salt & cook few more min.
Add in tempoyak & stir until translucent.
Finally add in fried Ikan Bilis.

2. Serve with white rice along other dishes.
Very nice appetiser.

BAHASA MALAYSIA VERSION
Makan nasi dgn lauk sambal tempoyak & ikan goreng panas2 dah cukup menyelerakan... Buat beberapa hari lepas tapi tak sempat nak post.

BAHAN2:
Petai
Segenggam Ikan Bilis
2 sb Tempoyak
Cili Merah - tumbuk (Along guna Cili Oil yg buat dulu kat sini) 
1 bj Bwg Besar - hiris 
1 btg Serai - ketuk 
Garam - jika perlu

CARA2:
1. Panaskan sedkit minyak & goreng ikan bilis sehingga rangup. Ketepikan.
Goreng bwg besar sehingga perang, masukkan serai, cili, petai, garam & masak beberapa min lagi.
Masukkan tempoyak & kacau sehingga bertukar warna.Akhir sekali masukkan ikan bilis goreng.

2. Hidangkan dgm nasi & lauk lain.
Sungguh menyelerakan....

  1. aigoo..aigooo..malam malam nampak lauk seperti ni membuatkan perut Cm berkeroncong.Dah naik atas ni ..nampak gaya kena turun ke dapu balik..Tahniah buat Along riz..selamat berangkat ke luar negara ya:)semoga sakses selalu.

  4. Salam along!! sedapnyerrrr! kita tak makan petai tp suke dgn bau petai kalau buat sambal2 gini hihihi... wahhhhhh panjat2 gua eak, best! kita suke tracking2 gini long kalau lah masih muda belia mmg kita nak g panjat sume gunung :D

  7. My favourite food. Just looking at it has already made my mouth salivate like mad. Btw, does yr lompat tikam recipe really use so little rice flour as opposed to the santan?

    The lompat tikam recipe is correct. Many other bloggers have tested my recipe successfully.
