We had fresh fish from kampung so cooking them into simple soup is really nice as they are still 'sweet' and I don't want to overwhelm them by too much spices or additional flavours. Balance it with Sambal when serve with rice for hot touch!

INGREDIENTS:
1 medium size Fish - cut into pieces
4 Shallots*
1 clove Garlic*
1" Ginger*
1 tsp Black Pepper corns* (* pounded)
1 small Carrot - dice
1-2 Potato - peeled & diced
1-2 Tomato - cut
Some chopped Chinese Celery & Spring Onion
Salt
METHOD:
1. Heat up a scoop of oil & stir-fry pounded ingredients until fragrant.
2. Add in water, salt and let it boil.
Add in potato, carrot and wait until half cook before adding in fish.
Once fish is done, add in tomato & cook for another few minutes.
3. Sprinkle fried shallots & chopped celery/spring onion when served.
Goes well with white rice.
BAHASA MALAYSIA VERSION
Nak masak sup ikan kena guna ikan yg segar supaya rasa nya manis dan tidak hanyir. Along suka sup ikan yg tidak terlalu berempah dan di hidangkan dgn sambal belacan apabila makan dgn nasi.

BAHAN2:
1 ekor Ikan - potong2
4 ulas Bwg Merah*
1 ulas Bwg Putih*
1" Halia*
1 st Lada Hitam Biji* (*tumbuk)
1 btg Karot - potong
1-2 bj Kentang - kupas & potong
1-2 bj Tomato - potong
Daun Bwg/Sup - cincang
Garam
CARA2:
1. Panaskan sedikit minyak & tumis bahan2 tumbuk* sehingga wangi.
2. Masukkan air, garam & masak sehingga mendidih.
Masukkan kentang, karot & masak sehingga separuh empuk.
Masukkan ikan & apabila masak masukkan tomato.
Masak beberapa minit lagi.
3. Tabur daun bwg/sup & bawang goreng sewaktu menghidang.
